International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) Appoint HCI
The International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) have appointed Health Care Informed (HCI) as Technical Advisors to manage the International Accreditation Programme (IAP). ISQua, The International Society for Quality in Health Care, is a non-profit, independent organisation with members in over 70 countries. ISQua works to provide services to guide health professionals, providers, researchers, agencies, policy makers and consumers, to achieve excellence in healthcare delivery to all people, and to continuously improve the quality and safety of care.
In managing the International Accreditation Programme (IAP), HCI shall be responsible for the only international programme that 'Accredits the Accreditors'. ISQua covers four main service areas including:
- national accreditation/certification bodies
- service specific external evaluation bodies (i.e. Blood Transfusion, Autism Services)
- health care standards
- surveyor training programmes
Accredited bodies under the IAP include the Joint Commission International, CHKS HAQU, the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), and the Australian Council for Healthcare Standards (ACHS).
